Students\u2019 applause, smiles and excitement as they dance alongside the robot have turned a simple demonstration into a source of widespread curiosity. The performance has captured attention; schools, local governments and education authorities now have a responsibility to turn that attention into knowledge and skills.<\/p>\n

Watching a robot dance is different from understanding how it works. Its movements involve balance, motion, commands and control. When students begin asking, \u201cHow does it move?\u201d, a science lesson can come alive. If the performance is followed by a discussion with technicians, an introduction to the robot\u2019s basic structure and simple practical activities, entertainment can become a starting point for learning.<\/p>\n

Schools do not need to buy expensive equipment to make this happen. They can connect robot demonstrations to lessons in science, mathematics and technology. Students can be encouraged to build simple machines, operate them through instructions and identify and solve problems. Providing teachers with suitable training and learning materials is also essential. Such exposure can deepen understanding and curiosity between the people of Nepal and China. Cooperation in technology and education could give that relationship greater meaning.<\/p>\n

To make the most of this opportunity, organisers should clearly explain the purpose of the demonstrations, how the robot operates and what students can learn from it. Students should not remain passive spectators of technology; they should be encouraged to become creative participants who develop their own solutions. Interest in foreign technology is natural, but it is equally important to help Nepali students develop the skills to address local challenges.<\/p>\n

The robot dance now going viral on TikTok may fade as a passing attraction, or it may mark the beginning of a longer journey towards technology education. The difference will depend on how well our education system responds. If the curiosity sparked in school courtyards is channelled into experimentation, inquiry and creativity, the demonstration will have achieved far more than providing entertainment.<\/p>\n
