US officials later found that two Iranian diplomats were still in New York.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, US officials informed the Iranian mission that the two diplomats remained in the city and again ordered them to leave. According to the official, one left New York on Friday night and the other departed the United States on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The episode comes amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, as diplomatic efforts to end the war weaken and concerns grow that military hostilities could resume.
