He stressed that the proposed suspension would apply specifically to election day.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky\u2019s statement that Ukraine would need 60 days to organise elections, Peskov said Russia wanted a lasting peace that would endure for generations, rather than a temporary ceasefire. He also said Russia had been prepared to resume peace talks immediately after holding its own State Duma elections.<\/p>\n<p>Peskov accused Ukraine of targeting Moscow and polling stations in Russia\u2019s new regions, and of attacking members of district election commissions.
