Lesson of Non-Violence and Prayer for Peace: World Peace Puja and Wang Initiation Begin in Chitwan

Chitwan – With wishes for the well-being of all living beings, national prosperity, and global peace, the 22nd World Peace Puja and the Wang (Initiation) ceremony of the Sange Mela will be organized at the Tharchen Nyungne Lhasang Buddhist Gumba in Lanka Line, Chitwan, from the upcoming Falgun 12 to 16. This event, which has been continuously held to disseminate the message of compassion, friendship, and non-violence from the Buddhist tradition worldwide, will be accorded special spiritual significance this time.

The focal point of the program will be the sacred ‘Wang’ initiation to be bestowed by the respected Tibetan Buddhist guru, Khenpo Tsulnam Rinpoche. In Buddhist practice, this is considered an important means for spiritual progress, development of compassion, and self-purification. It is believed that monks, devotees, and peace lovers coming from all over the world will receive this initiation and advance their spiritual practice.

According to the officials of the organizing Gumba, in today’s world filled with division, violence, and unrest, the need for such spiritual and peaceful congregations is much greater than before. “This program is not merely a religious ritual; it is a living campaign for humanism, coexistence, and global goodwill,” they stated.

The Tharchen Nyungne Lhasang Buddhist Gumba, established in 2064 BS, has been actively playing a role in promoting religious tolerance, social harmony, and peace. The Gumba believes that this event, organized from a center of cultural and religious diversity like Chitwan, will disseminate the message of peace, mutual understanding, and spiritual awakening at the national level.

The program will include special puja (worship), collective meditation, mantra chanting, and other religious rituals. Furthermore, through the organization of the Sange Mela, the message of preserving Buddhist cultural traditions and social unity will be conveyed. The organizing committee has issued an open invitation to all peace seekers and practitioners to participate in this sacred occasion.
