Nepal Elections: Russian Citizens Advised to Exercise Security Caution

Kathmandu – In view of the national parliamentary elections taking place in Nepal today (Thursday), Russian citizens residing here have been advised to exercise security caution. The Russian Embassy in Nepal issued a notice informing that additional security measures and certain temporary restrictions will be in place across the country on election day.

The Russian Embassy has requested its citizens to strictly comply with all instructions issued by the local administration and to show respect for the electoral processes of the host nation (Nepal). The Embassy has also urged everyone to avoid any untoward incidents that may occur during the elections and to pay special attention to their own safety.

The notice issued by the Embassy states, “As additional security measures are in place across Nepal, all Russian citizens are requested to follow the instructions of local authorities and show respect for the electoral process.”
