New Chapter in Venezuela-US Relations: Diplomatic Ties Restored After Talks

Caracas: Venezuela has decided to restore diplomatic and consular relations with the United States. The Venezuelan government made the formal announcement on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by the Venezuelan government, this decision comes after continuous diplomatic talks between both parties. During the talks, both sides agreed to resume institutional relations and enter a new phase of bilateral cooperation.

The statement reads, “This step has been taken following a process of sustained diplomatic dialogue between both parties, during which an agreement was reached to restore institutional ties and move towards a new phase of bilateral cooperation.”

The Venezuelan government has stated that it is ready to enter this new phase of bilateral relations. This new phase will be guided by the principles of mutual respect, the sovereign equality of states, and cooperation between peoples, the statement added.

It is noteworthy that diplomatic relations between Venezuela and the US have been tense for the past several years. The restoration of relations between the two countries is expected to bring new equations in regional and international politics.
