Peace Board Formed for Gaza: Trump to Chair It Himself
Announcement of Second Phase of Peace Process for War-Torn Gaza Strip, Focusing on Demilitarization, Technocratic Governance, and Reconstruction
Washington — US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that a ‘Board of Peace’ has been formed for the Gaza region and that its members will be announced shortly. On his social media platform ‘Truth Social,’ Trump wrote, “It is my great honor to announce the formation of the Gaza Peace Board. It is the greatest and most prestigious board.”
This announcement comes after a declaration made earlier in the day by Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, announcing the launch of the second phase of the Gaza peace deal. The second phase is said to focus on the demilitarization, technocratic governance, and reconstruction of the war-ravaged Gaza Strip.
According to the framework of the peace deal, Trump himself will chair this ‘Peace Board.’
