Russia Issues Statement Condemning US Actions in Venezuela

Moscow, Russia — The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed serious concern over reports that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife were forcibly removed from the country during what it termed “aggressive actions” by the United States.
In an official statement, the ministry said, “We demand immediate clarification on this matter. If such actions did indeed take place, they represent an unacceptable violation of the sovereignty of an independent state, which constitutes a breach of the fundamental principles of international law.”
The statement comes in response to what is reported to be a military operation carried out by the United States in Venezuela today. Russia has been a consistent political and military supporter of the Venezuelan government.
The incident has sparked significant reactions within the international community. Human rights organizations are calling for a peaceful resolution, while the United Nations Security Council is preparing for an emergency meeting on the matter.
As of now, no official response regarding President Maduro’s status has been made public by either the United States or Venezuela.
