Russia-UAE Partnership Advances on 55-Year Foundation of Friendship, Agreement on Global Issues

Kremlin, Moscow. High-level talks between President Vladimir Putin and United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan concluded today, covering bilateral and regionally significant issues. Both leaders praised the 55-year completion of bilateral diplomatic relations and the multifaceted strategic partnership, expressing hope for enhanced cooperation in economic, technological, energy, educational, and cultural fields.

The Russian President highlighted the UAE as a key trade partner in the Arab world, underscoring notable progress in bilateral investment, the presence of tech companies like Yandex, and an 18% growth in tourism. Emphasizing the importance of educational collaboration, he mentioned the joint educational complex in the Moscow region and plans for establishing a Russian university in the future.

On international issues, the Russian side commended the UAE’s mediation in the Ukraine crisis and its cooperation in prisoner exchanges. Furthermore, both parties agreed on joint efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the humanitarian situation in Gaza, as well as the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state for long-term regional peace.

This meeting is viewed as evidence of the deepened strategic cooperation between the two countries and a shared perspective on addressing international challenges.
