Severe Flood Terror in Bali: Tourists Evacuated to Safety, Rescued by Boats

Jakarta: Flooding following heavy rainfall has created a disastrous situation in the Indonesian tourist city of Bali. Local authorities informed on Tuesday that the Sanur area of Denpasar has been the most affected by the floods, and dozens of foreign tourists have been moved to safer locations.
The areas of Jalan Bumi Ayu and Jalan Kesari in Sanur, as well as Jalan Gunung Athena in Denpasar, have suffered the most damage from the floods. In these locations, the floodwater has reached up to one and a half meters, approximately chest-deep for an adult. Numerous villas and hotels have been submerged, disrupting tourism activities as well.
The Bali Police’s search and rescue team was mobilized on Tuesday morning. A team of 14 personnel, equipped with four boats and one rubber boat, is carrying out rescue operations.
According to local media, rescue team coordinator Gede Sutrawan said, “So far, five guests have been rescued, and seven people have been moved to a safe location from the northern area.”
The floods have occurred after several days of heavy rainfall across various parts of Bali. Authorities have warned that continued rainfall could worsen the situation and have urged locals and tourists to remain vigilant and follow safety advice.
