Warning to Give Response to Any Aggression: Iran

Tehran – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei on Monday issued a warning in response to US military movements and joint drills with Gulf states, stating, ‘We will give a comprehensive and regret-inducing response to any aggression.’

Speaking at a weekly press conference in Tehran, he said that following Israel’s military attack on Iran in June, Iran has been facing new claims and threats from the US and Israel. “We have been and still are facing hybrid warfare,” Baghaei said.

He cautioned the countries of West Asia, stating, “Iran will not be the sole target of regional insecurity. Insecurity is contagious.” He added, “Any country that respects peace and international law must take a clear stance against US threats towards other countries.”

Drawing on the experiences of the 12-day war with Israel and the US, Baghaei stated that Iran would “definitely give a comprehensive and regret-inducing response to any aggression.”

Commenting on US President Donald Trump’s statement that an ‘armada’ focused on Iran is heading towards West Asia, Baghaei said that the entry of an aircraft carrier into the region “is not supposed to affect Iran’s determination and seriousness to defend the country.”

He informed that the Iranian armed forces are strictly monitoring all developments while continuously improving their capabilities to protect the country’s national sovereignty, dignity, and security.

When asked about the possibility of potential Iran-US talks, spokesperson Baghaei said that “negotiations are only possible with a side that does not seek war or confrontation.” He clarified, “We have never welcomed war and have never shied away from diplomacy and negotiation. We have demonstrated this in practice.”

US military buildup has intensified after Trump expressed support for anti-government protests in Iran by saying ‘help is on the way’ and announced that a ‘massive’ US naval force is heading towards Iran, while also suggesting it might not be used.
