‘We will also hold dialogue with Congress and UML against the brokers burning the country’: Prachanda

Kathmandu: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, coordinator of the Nepal Communist Party, has stated that he is ready to hold dialogue even with Nepali Congress and UML to save the country and the constitution from crisis. During a discussion with leftist intellectuals in Parisdanda, he indicated the possibility of cooperating with the major parties to form a front against the Rastriya Swatantra Party.

Prachanda said, “Our party is the proponent of the Constituent Assembly, federal democratic republic, and inclusive proportional representation. By virtue of that, on one hand, we will have to talk even with Congress and UML to save the country, the constitution, and the peace process from the brokers who want to burn down everything from Singha Durbar. They are our former comrades-in-arms. We must hold dialogue with them to the extent of uniting against foreign brokers.”

He stated that he has been advocating for unity to protect the nation’s freedom and sovereignty from crisis.

Claiming that the public’s perception towards his party is positive, Prachanda said, “The people are coming to understand that the Nepal Communist Party is the party of leaders with experience in keeping the nation united, running the government systematically, and having a clean image.”

Describing the unification within his party as historic, he added, “This is the first time in Nepal’s history that so many parties have unified at once. Around 25-26 big and small groups have united, and all of them are active.”
