Xi Jinping Extends Heartfelt Respect to Soldiers Who Dedicated Their Lives to National Defense and Honor

Beijing – Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended warm greetings to the country’s retired military officers and veterans on the occasion of the Spring Festival.
President Xi, who also serves as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), conveyed his greetings while attending a special gala held on Friday in Beijing in honor of retired military officers from Beijing-based troops.
On the occasion, President Xi highly praised the historic role played by the Chinese military in safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development, describing retired soldiers as invaluable assets of the nation. He emphasized that the contributions of soldiers who devoted themselves to serving the country and the people, even under difficult circumstances, should never be forgotten.
The Spring Festival is China’s most important traditional holiday, symbolizing family, unity, and respect. President Xi’s remarks reflected the traditional Chinese value of honoring and showing warmth to retired soldiers during this festive occasion.
Addressing the retired military officers present at the event, he reiterated that the Party and the state remain firmly committed to protecting the interests, dignity, and well-being of both active-duty soldiers and veterans. He expressed confidence that this commitment would further strengthen unity, morale, and loyalty to the nation within the Chinese military.
