Kathmandu, April 18 — Evidence has emerged of a business partnership between broker Deepak Bhatt, currently in police custody in Sanepa, and Home Minister Sudhan Gurung in connection with the Himalayan Reinsurance fraud investigation being pursued under the Money Laundering probe.

According to official records, the two are linked through Star Micro Insurance Company Limited, registered under number 304670/079/80. In the company’s director list, Bhatt’s firm, Infinity Holdings, is represented by employee Prajuni Bajracharya at entry number three. At entry number forty‑nine, the name of Sudhan Gurung—son of Dil Bahadur Gurung of Chumnubri Rural Municipality‑2, Gorkha—is clearly listed.

While investigations into fraud involving Himalayan Reinsurance and other insurance companies are ongoing, the revelation of Gurung’s business ties to Bhatt—who remains in police custody—has now come to light.
