Home Minister and middleman Bhatt’s five-year-old relationship made public.

Kathmandu — Details have emerged confirming a long-standing cordial relationship between Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and middleman Deepak Bhatt, who is currently in custody. Bhatt was honored at the general assembly organized by the ‘Hami Nepal’ organization on December 21, 2021, and a photograph of this event has now been made public.

The photograph shows Gurung, who is the founding coordinator of ‘Hami Nepal’, and Dr. Sanduk Ruit, president of Barbara Foundation, jointly presenting a gift and a letter of appreciation to Bhatt. In the picture, Bhatt is seen standing, holding a microphone and wearing a brown jacket, while Gurung is seated on a sofa next to him, wearing a mask. Bhatt was honored at this event along with other supporters and donors.

Gurung has been accused of hijacking the ‘Gen Z’ movement of Bhadra. He is the founding coordinator of ‘Hami Nepal’. It has been found that the same organization honored Bhatt in the capital five years ago. Meanwhile, details have also emerged that Gurung received ‘free’ shares worth 2.5 million rupees from Smart Micro Finance. Questions are now being raised as to whether these shares were a ‘barter’ (exchange) for that honor.

Previously, the land mentioned in Gurung’s publicly disclosed asset details was found to be almost four times more than the prevailing land ceiling. After criticism regarding the source of his gold, cash, and share details, he wrote on social media, ‘It is not a mistake to be born poor, but it is a mistake to die poor.’

Meanwhile, after being embroiled in one controversy after another, the website of Gurung’s social organization ‘Hami Nepal’ has stopped opening. Further details revealing a close business relationship between Gurung and Bhatt were made public only on Sunday evening.
