Public Procurement Monitoring System Hacking Case: Two More Arrested; Former Minister Pandey Already in Custody

Kathmandu — Police have arrested two more individuals in connection with the investigation into the unauthorized access and manipulation of tender details in the system of the Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO). According to SP Shiva Kumar Shrestha, spokesperson for the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, those arrested are Swodesh Pokhrel, a shareholder and accountant of Incon Pvt. Ltd., and Prakash Dhungana, operator of Kalpabriksha Builders Pvt. Ltd.

Pokhrel was arrested on Saturday and Dhungana on Sunday, SP Shrestha informed. They are accused of altering financial proposal documents before the opening of financial proposals for various tenders. Former minister and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Vikram Pandey had been arrested earlier in connection with the same case. The bureau has stated that more individuals may be arrested as the investigation continues.
