Father and Son Killed by Lightning Strike in Pyuthan, Four Others Injured

Pyuthan — A father and son from the same household have died after being struck by lightning in Pyuthan district. Seventy-year-old Kedhar Bohara Kshetri and his 26-year-old son Ramu Bohara Kshetri of Liwang, Gaumukhi Rural Municipality-6, lost their lives due to lightning on Sunday, according to the District Police Office, Pyuthan.

The bodies of both victims have been kept at the district hospital in Bijuwar. The hospital has informed that post-mortem examinations will be conducted on Monday morning. Two others from the same rural municipality were also injured. Sirjana Neupane, 24, of Gaumukhi-4, and Gami Bohara, 54, of Gaumukhi-6, are receiving treatment at the district hospital in Bijuwar.

On Saturday afternoon, two sisters from Ratapani, Mandavi Rural Municipality-2, were also struck by lightning. Kalpana Adhikari, 20, and Sapana Adhikari, 16, are also undergoing treatment at the district hospital in Bijuwar.
