From Digital Systems in Education to Scholarships: Minister Pokharel and Chinese Ambassador Discuss Expanding Cooperation

Kathmandu — Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Zhang Maoming, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Sashmit Pokharel, on Monday. The meeting, held at the ministry in Singha Durbar, centred on discussions regarding the Chinese government’s support and cooperation in the fields of education, science and technology, and sports in Nepal.
Minister Pokharel, who also serves as the Spokesperson of the Government, expressed his desire to enhance the development of school infrastructure, the institutional development of digital systems in teaching and learning, and the partnership with the Chinese government. He also drew the attention of the Chinese government towards the early completion of projects underway in the education sector and the promotion of scholarships provided by the Chinese government according to the interests of Nepali youth.
In response, Ambassador Maoming stated that the Chinese government is willing to partner and cooperate on the matters raised by the Government of Nepal. The meeting concluded with an understanding to further deepen the mutual interests and multidimensional relations between the two countries.
