Nepal-China Mutual Cooperation Society Extends May Day Greetings, Stresses BRI Implementation

Kathmandu — The Nepal-China Mutual Cooperation Society has extended heartfelt May Day greetings to the entire working class, farmers, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and the general public on the occasion of International Workers’ Day.

In a message of greetings issued by Society President Prem Sagar Poudel on Thursday, solidarity was expressed in favour of just labour, equal opportunity, and human dignity. “Both Nepal and China are bearers of civilisations that hold labour and workers in high esteem. China, in its journey of development, has always prioritised the hard work and integrity of its workforce, serving as a source of inspiration for the entire world,” the message stated.

The message noted that the relationship between Nepal and China is a centuries-old friendship based on the principles of Panchsheel, adding that the contribution of the working people, business communities, cultural organisations, and intellectual circles of both countries has been invaluable in further strengthening this bond. The Society pledged to continue its efforts to strengthen economic partnership, cultural exchange, labour cooperation, and people-to-people relations in the days ahead.

The message also expressed confidence that through the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the people of both countries will experience new employment opportunities, infrastructure development, and improvements in their standard of living. “We look forward to everyone’s cooperation in the campaign to build a prosperous, just, and equitable society by ensuring the dignity of labour and respect for fair remuneration,” President Poudel stated.
