President Issues Another Ordinance Against Money Laundering

Kathmandu — President Ramchandra Paudel issued the “Asset Laundering (Money Laundering) Prevention Third Amendment Ordinance, 2083” on Friday. According to the President’s Office, the ordinance was issued under Article 114 of the Constitution on the recommendation of the government.
With this, two of the six ordinances submitted by the government to the President have now been issued. Just on Thursday, President Paudel had issued the “Cooperative (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2083.” The President continues to consult with legal experts on the remaining four ordinances — those related to the Constitutional Council, universities, the dismissal of public office-bearers, public procurement, and the amendment of certain Nepal Acts.
