“Nepal Can Learn Much from Norway’s Education System,” Says Ambassador

Kathmandu. Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal, Dagny Mjøs, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Sasmit Pokharel, on Monday.

During the meeting held at the ministry in Singha Durbar, discussions focused on Norway’s assistance and cooperation in Nepal’s education, science, technology, and sports sectors. The talks were particularly centred on the continuity of Norway’s support to Nepal’s school education and future partnerships.

Minister Pokharel expressed gratitude for Norway’s ongoing support in areas such as inclusivity, equity, foundational learning, and climate-smart education systems. Praising the excellence of Norway’s education system, he stated that Nepal can learn a great deal from it and that the ministry stands ready for such collaboration.

Ambassador Mjøs reaffirmed Norway’s commitment to continuing its support for Nepal’s school education. She shared that she is aware of the Nepali government’s 100-point priorities and expressed Norway’s keen interest in further cooperation in the education sector.
