Armed Police Inspector Caught with Bribe, Case Filed at Special Court by CIAA

Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today filed a case at the Special Court against Armed Police Inspector Wakil Adhikari, who was posted at the Armed Police Force Nepal Security Base in Dhanusha.

He was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a service recipient after stopping vehicles used for soil and gravel filling work on the Kamala Dhalkebar Bagmati road construction section and preventing them from dumping soil at the site. CIAA Spokesperson Suresh Neupane informed that the charge sheet was filed against the accused officer, demanding action commensurate with the amount involved.

Similarly, a case has been filed at the Special Court against Sumitra Kumari Pudasaini, as she was found to have given testimony prejudicial to the government while deposing as a government witness in a bribery case involving the Government of Nepal as the defendant and Chandra Bahadur Adhikari among others. A press release issued by the CIAA stated that the commission filed the case at the Special Court today, claiming an amount of Rs 5 million against Pudasaini.
