Gen-Z Representatives Boycott Constitution Amendment Taskforce Talks, Vow Not to Participate Until Six Demands Met

Kathmandu. Gen-Z representatives have boycotted discussions called by the Constitution Amendment Taskforce. The taskforce had invited the Gen-Z representatives for discussions on Friday to seek suggestions on constitutional amendments. However, they have announced that they will not participate until their six-point demand is fulfilled.

Thirteen Gen-Z representatives issued a joint statement demanding that the agreement reached during the Gen-Z People’s Movement on Mangsir 24, 2082, be implemented to the letter, and that the cases filed against those who participated in the Gen-Z movement be withdrawn, among other demands.

They have also demanded in their charter of demands that the reports of the investigation and inquiry commissions on the Gen-Z movement and other various political and social movements be made public and implemented. Similarly, they have demanded an immediate halt to the human rights violations and repression being perpetrated by the state against Nepali citizens, including landless squatters, landless Dalits, and informal settlers, and for their just management.
