Russian President Putin Congratulates Kazakhstan’s President Tokayev on His Birthday

Moscow – Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a warm congratulatory message to President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the occasion of his birthday. In the message sent on May 17, 2026, President Putin praised Tokayev’s contributions as head of state.

Putin said, “Dear Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich, accept my heartiest congratulations on the occasion of your birthday. By your activity as head of state, you have earned the high respect of your compatriots and significant international authority. It is hard to overestimate your personal contribution to the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Kazakhstan.”

The Russian President expressed gratitude for Tokayev’s participation in the Victory Day celebrations held in Moscow on May 9, saying, “We had a warm conversation with you on May 9 in Moscow. I am grateful that you were able to come to the Victory Day celebration, our common great holiday.” Putin noted that preparations for his state visit to Kazakhstan have been completed, and expressed confidence that the upcoming negotiations would contribute to the further development of the entire complex of mutually beneficial bilateral relations between the two countries and peoples. He also stated that the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council to be held in Astana under Tokayev’s chairmanship is also gaining special importance.

Putin concluded, “I sincerely wish you, dear Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich, good health, prosperity and success. Respectfully, Vladimir Putin.”
