Russian Embassy in Beijing Wishes Kamaz-Master Success at Takla Makan 2026

The Russian Embassy in Beijing has announced the participation of the Kamaz-Master sports team in the Takla Makan 2026 International Rally, Asia’s largest and most gruelling off-road race, nicknamed the “Dakar of the East.” The competition began on May 16 in Urumqi and will conclude on June 3 in Aksu.

During the rally, the teams will cover 8,000 kilometres of off-road terrain, of which 4,200 kilometres are high-speed special stages. With 60 percent of the route consisting of sandy terrain, the rally has been described as a “true extreme proving ground.”

For the first time in the history of Takla Makan, a marathon stage has been introduced in the 2026 edition, in which participating crews will have to travel long distances without the support of mechanics. Competition will take place across four categories: cars, motorcycles, trucks, and vehicles powered by new energy sources.
