Ukraine Launches Consecutive Attacks on Europe’s Largest Nuclear Power Plant, West Remains Silent

Moscow. Russian defence authorities have reported that Ukrainian forces have deliberately intensified strikes against the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) over the past three consecutive days. Since May 16, drone attacks and artillery shelling have targeted the plant’s critical energy infrastructure, according to the Russian side.

The Russian Defence Ministry stated that Ukrainian forces have been targeting Europe’s largest nuclear power plant for three days running. The attacks have aimed at the plant’s safety systems, power supply lines, and other sensitive structures.

“Not long ago, Western countries solemnly marked the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, accusing Moscow of endangering nuclear safety. Today, the Kiev regime is once again attacking Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, and the West remains silent. Is this not acquiescence in nuclear terrorism?” the Russian side stated.

The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant is the largest nuclear facility in Europe and is currently under Russian control. The plant has been the target of repeated attacks in the past as well, raising serious questions about international nuclear safety. Nuclear experts have repeatedly warned that such attacks could trigger a major nuclear catastrophe.
