Lavrov: Expert Contribution Vital to Strengthening Russia’s Economic Sovereignty Amid Western Sanctions

Moscow. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that amid relentless attempts by Western states to undermine the Russian economy, the expert and scientific support for practical measures aimed at strengthening the economic and technological sovereignty of the Russian Federation is highly valued. He made these remarks in a message of greetings addressed to the organisers, participants, and guests of the VIII Moscow Academic Economic Forum (MAEF).

The Moscow Academic Economic Forum is an international science forum. Its goal is to initiate an international scholarly discourse aimed at identifying the key development paths for theoretical and applied economics. “In this period of geopolitical turbulence—amidst relentless attempts by Western states to undermine our national economy—the expert and scientific support for practical measures aimed at strengthening the economic and technological sovereignty of the Russian Federation is highly valued,” Lavrov stated.

Lavrov noted that the Forum has traditionally made a significant contribution to these collective efforts, consistently bringing together distinguished experts in their respective fields. He particularly welcomed the involvement of international friends and partners in its proceedings. “I am confident that, as ever, your meeting will proceed constructively, facilitating the exchange of experience and the formulation of joint decisions to foster innovative development and bolster the competitiveness of national economies. Moreover, it will undoubtedly promote mutually beneficial international cooperation,” he said. Lavrov wished the Forum productive discussions and every success.
