Presentation of Russia’s MGIMO University Held in New Delhi

New Delhi. A presentation programme on MGIMO University, a prestigious institution under the Russian Foreign Ministry, was held at the Russian House in New Delhi. The event, organized for Indian school and university students, was held with the support of the Russian Embassy and the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in India.

At the programme held on May 26, Indian students were briefed on MGIMO University’s academic programmes, history, traditions, student life and international opportunities.

Roman Babushkin, Minister Counsellor at the Russian diplomatic mission in India and an MGIMO alumnus, delivered the welcome remarks. He highlighted the university’s exceptionally high academic standards, noting that studying at MGIMO opens the door to diplomacy, global corporations and the international community.

MGIMO representatives conducted interactive sessions, presentations and contests for the students. Participants raised questions about the university’s history, academic programmes, admission process, campus life and international career opportunities available after graduation.

Responding to students’ queries, the representatives said MGIMO has been providing high-level education in fields including international relations, diplomacy, global economics, law, management and linguistics.

Organizers said the programme helped increase interest among Indian students in Russian higher education. Such events are expected to further strengthen the longstanding educational, cultural and people-to-people ties between Russia and India.

MGIMO University is considered one of Russia’s leading higher education institutions. It has a distinct reputation particularly in diplomacy, international relations and global affairs. The programme has been viewed as an important effort to expand Russia-India educational cooperation.
