Russian President Putin Extends Independence Day Greetings to Azerbaijan, Emphasises Friendly and Allied Relations

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a warm congratulatory message to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.

In the letter released by the Kremlin, President Putin praised Azerbaijan’s impressive achievements in the economic and social spheres, as well as the well-deserved authority it has gained on the world stage. “Please accept my warmest congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday, the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has achieved impressive success in economic and social spheres and gained a well-deserved authority on the world stage,” the message read.

The letter underscored the great importance Moscow places on its friendly and allied relations with Baku. President Putin expressed confidence that joint efforts would ensure the further development of fruitful bilateral cooperation across various areas. “We give great importance to friendly, allied relations with Baku. I am confident that together we can ensure further development of fruitful bilateral cooperation in various areas, as well as partnership in regional and international affairs,” Putin stated.

He further noted that such cooperation undoubtedly responds to the indigenous interests of the Russian and Azerbaijani peoples and contributes to strengthening security and stability in the South Caucasus and the Caspian Sea region.

In closing, the Russian President wished President Ilham Aliyev health and success, and all Azerbaijani citizens well-being and prosperity. Azerbaijan celebrates its Independence Day annually on May 28.
