Krishna Niraula Elected RSP Biratnagar Metropolitan Chair

Biratnagar – Krishna Niraula has been elected as the chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Biratnagar Metropolitan Committee. At the party’s first metropolitan convention held on Saturday, Niraula secured 208 out of 290 votes cast to claim victory. His rivals, Saurabh Koirala and Chitra Prasad Dhungel, received 41 and 34 votes respectively.

Niraula, a resident of Biratnagar-1, had previously served as the coordinator of the metropolitan ad hoc committee. In the vice-chair race, Nirmala Budhathoki Giri of Biratnagar-8 won with 126 votes, defeating Manoj Sah (72), Sabina Khatri (46), and Mandira Kumari Parajuli (39).

Amar Kumar Katuwal of Biratnagar-3 was elected secretary with an overwhelming 220 votes, while his opponent Rustam managed 59. Bishnu Niraula (Akash) of Biratnagar-4 won the joint secretary post with 191 votes. The metropolitan committee will include 19 elected members, while the treasurer will be nominated. The newly elected committee’s term is set for five years.
