TikToker Tulsi Adhikari Arrested in Thailand with Interpol Assistance, Brought Back to Nepal

Lalitpur. TikToker Tulsi (Tulsa) Adhikari has been arrested in Thailand with the assistance of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) and brought back to Nepal. Superintendent of Police at the Lalitpur District Police Range, Gautam Mishra, confirmed the arrest.

“A case had already been registered in court against her on charges of fraud, criminal breach of trust, and money laundering,” SP Mishra said. “She was arrested in Thailand while a Red Notice had been issued, and was subsequently brought to Kathmandu.”

A case was filed in Chaitra 2082 against Adhikari and nine others on charges of defrauding an individual of 65.2 million rupees by threatening to file a rape case by portraying a consensual relationship otherwise. Even while the police were investigating, she had been publicly sharing her views through TikTok. Investigation officers had stated that although she claimed she would cooperate with the investigation, she spread confusion through social media while she was in Thailand.

Adhikari had questioned the role of the police, claiming that she was not summoned while she was in Nepal but an arrest warrant was issued only after she had gone abroad. A person named Kumar Chimoriya had filed a complaint at the Satdobato Police Circle against her on 22 Shrawan 2082. Although the investigation initially began only on the subject of fraud, the police had also proceeded with an investigation into money laundering after irregular transactions were detected upon checking bank statements. Police have stated that further investigation into Adhikari is underway.
