Chinese Ambassador and Health Minister Hold Courtesy Meeting, Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Health Sector

Kathmandu. Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, His Excellency Zhang Maoming, paid a formal courtesy call on Honourable Minister for Health and Food Hygiene, Nisha Mehta, at her office in the Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene on Monday.
Discussions during the meeting touched upon the long-standing and close relationship between the two countries. Minister Mehta lauded the support provided by the Chinese government to Nepal in times of both happiness and sorrow, as well as its contributions to various projects in the health sector, and extended her best wishes for the newly appointed Ambassador’s tenure. She stated that Nepal would learn from China’s commendable development and move forward.
Ambassador Chang congratulated the Nepal government on its formation with a strong mandate and expressed his best wishes for the government’s tenure, hoping it would make great strides in Nepal’s economic and social development. He conveyed the Chinese government’s readiness to assist Nepal in its priority sectors. The Ambassador proposed possible capacity-building and technical assistance in various areas, including traditional medicine systems, public health, infrastructure, and food hygiene.
