New Night Market Opens in Lhasa

Lhasa. A new night market has opened in Lhasa, Tibet. The Sukumthang Night Market officially began operations at the end of May.
The market is located in the Chengguan District of Lhasa, in the Damar Street area, near the intersection of Tibet University Middle Road and Lhading Road, within the “East City Sukumthang Integrated Agricultural Products Market.”

With the upgrading of the East City Sukumthang Agricultural Products Market, the night market has been introduced under a new operating model: agricultural products trade during the day and a leisure and consumption hub at night.
The market brings together local specialty foods, modern leisure activities, folk cultural exchanges and public convenience services. It is expected to support local consumption, small businesses, cultural activities and the development of Lhasa’s night-time economy.
The Sukumthang Night Market will operate during this phase until October 30. Its daily opening hours are from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
