Lavrov–Dodik Meeting Discusses Moscow–Banja Luka Cooperation

Kathmandu. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Milorad Dodik, former President of Republika Srpska and Chairman of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, held a meeting on the sidelines of the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

During the meeting held on June 5, the two sides discussed ways to further deepen partnership-based ties between Moscow and Banja Luka.

The meeting was described as a follow-up to the conversation held in Moscow on May 9 between Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of Republika Srpska Siniša Karan, and Milorad Dodik.

Lavrov and Dodik also exchanged views on the current status of the political settlement in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their discussion included an assessment of the role and operation of the Office of the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting held during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is being viewed as part of continued efforts to maintain political dialogue and partnership between Moscow and Banja Luka.
