Minister Lamsal Conducts On-Site Inspection of Pride Projects in Eastern Madhesh, Shows Concern for Resolution of Stalled Bridge

Kathmandu. Minister for Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal has taken stock of the progress and pace of the pride projects considered the ‘lifeline’ of Eastern Madhesh. A high-level team led by Minister Lamsal conducted on-site inspections and monitoring of large and strategic development projects underway in various districts of Eastern Madhesh.
During the visit, Minister Lamsal’s team directly reviewed the progress of all three sections of the Kakarbhitta-Laukahi Road Project and the upgrading of approximately 87 kilometres of road from Kanchanpur in Saptari to Kamala in Siraha into four lanes. Additionally, the team carried out a special observation of the Kamala-Kanchanpur Bridge under the Hulaki Highway, which has been stalled for the past 12 years, and showed concern for its resolution.
During the inspection, various important infrastructure projects operating under the investment of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank were also monitored. The Ministry has placed high priority on providing necessary facilitation, coordination, and effective monitoring to complete these projects within the stipulated timeframe.
It is believed that with Minister Lamsal’s active involvement, plans that have been stalled for years will gain momentum and the hardships faced by local residents will be alleviated.
