Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Rahman to Visit Russia for Talks on Bilateral Relations

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Khalilur Rahman, will be in Moscow for an official visit from June 7 to 9 at the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The previous contact between the heads of the foreign policy agencies of the two countries took place in September 2023 during Lavrov’s working trip to Dhaka.

Rahman is visiting Russia for the first time in his current capacity. He represents the new Bangladeshi government formed after the February parliamentary elections.

During the negotiations scheduled for June 8, the parties will discuss the state and prospects of Russian-Bangladesh cooperation, as well as topical issues on the international and regional agendas. The visit program also includes a meeting of the high-level guest with the leadership of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
