‘Greater Nepal’ Activist Phanindra Nepal Arrested

KATHMANDU – Phanindra Nepal, President of the National Independent Civil Society and activist of the ‘Greater Nepal’ campaign, has been arrested.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office in Teku, he was taken into custody from the Kataribasti area of Budhanilkantha Municipality-10.
Police sources stated that he was arrested following a complaint related to cheque dishonor (non-payment of cheque). The investigation is underway, the office confirmed.
Nepal, 67, who hails from Sabha Pokhari in Sankhuwasabha district, was residing in Kaushaltar, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-3, Bhaktapur.
Police have stated that his detention and investigation are being carried out in accordance with regular procedures.
