Nepal-China Joint Border Patrol Conducted at Tiptala Bhanjyang

Security officials from Nepal and China have conducted a joint border patrol and inspection of a boundary pillar at Tiptala Bhanjyang in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality 7 of Taplejung district.

The joint team included personnel from No. 1 Gulm Kanchanjunga of the Armed Police Force, Nepal, the Border Out Post at Olangchung Gola, and their Chinese counterparts from the China Immigration Police.

Tiptala Bhanjyang, located in a remote high-Himalayan area, is considered an important border point between Nepal and China. During the patrol, the joint team inspected the condition of the boundary pillar, observed the surrounding terrain and reviewed the security situation in the border area.

Photographs from the site show Nepali and Chinese security personnel gathered near the boundary pillar. The team is also seen moving on foot through rocky mountain terrain as part of the field inspection.

Such joint patrols and inspections are expected to support coordination between the security agencies of the two countries, strengthen border management and promote mutual trust. In remote Himalayan border areas, regular coordination is considered important for the protection of boundary pillars, monitoring of cross-border movement and peaceful border administration.

Olangchung Gola in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality 7 lies in the northern border area of Taplejung. The route through Tiptala Bhanjyang has traditionally connected the region with China’s Xizang area. Due to difficult geography, harsh weather and limited infrastructure, the presence of security personnel and regular border monitoring are considered especially important in this area.

During the inspection, officials from both sides observed the physical condition of the border area. The activity is expected to help maintain transparent coordination and regular communication along the Nepal-China border.
