Odd-Even Fuel Distribution System Introduced in Nine Russian Regions

An odd-even fuel distribution system is currently operating at petrol stations in nine regions of Russia, according to calculations by the Russian news agency TASS.

The arrangement is intended to regulate fuel sales and reduce congestion at petrol stations amid increased pressure on supplies in certain areas.

However, the system has not been introduced uniformly across every part of the affected regions.

In Altai Krai, the mechanism is operating only in the city of Rubtsovsk rather than throughout the entire region.

Similarly, in the Republic of Mordovia, the odd-even system is in effect only in the regional capital, Saransk, and in several districts.

Regional authorities have introduced local fuel-distribution restrictions and temporary sales controls in response to the specific supply situation in their respective areas.
