Pakistan’s technology exports rose by 21 percent in the fiscal year 2025–26 to reach a record 4.6 billion US dollars.

According to figures released by Pakistan’s Finance Ministry on Saturday, the significant increase was driven by growing international demand for information technology, software development and IT-enabled services.

Pakistan earned 416 million dollars from technology exports in June 2026 alone. The figure was 12 percent higher than the previous month and 23 percent above the level recorded in June 2025.

The ministry said the technology sector has become an increasingly important source of foreign exchange earnings for Pakistan. It has also contributed to the creation of skilled employment and helped attract domestic and foreign investment.

The rise in technology exports has further supported the government’s efforts to transform Pakistan into a knowledge-based and export-oriented economy, according to the ministry.

The government has been prioritising digital infrastructure, skilled workforce development, policy support for technology companies and expanded access to international markets.

These measures are expected to strengthen Pakistan’s technology ecosystem, improve its competitiveness in global digital markets and support sustainable export-led economic growth.
