Li Xi Calls for Sustained Action Against Corruption Affecting People’s Daily Lives

Senior Communist Party of China official Li Xi has called for sustained efforts to address misconduct and corruption that directly affect people’s daily lives, saying anti-corruption work must deliver tangible benefits and strengthen public support for the Party.
Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks during an inspection tour of southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality from Wednesday to Friday.
During the visit, Li inspected a local community and a village, where he met officials and residents and listened to their suggestions on improving Party conduct, enforcing discipline and strengthening the fight against corruption.
While visiting a science and technology industrial park affiliated with China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd., Li urged state-owned enterprises to improve Party conduct, promote integrity and strengthen anti-corruption efforts in support of high-quality development.
Li also visited Southwest University of Political Science and Law, where he called for deeper implementation of full and rigorous Party self-governance in higher education institutions.
He also stressed the importance of steadily developing disciplinary inspection and supervision as an academic field.
At a symposium with local discipline inspection and supervision officials, Li called for continuous efforts to prevent and correct improper approaches to evaluating governance performance.
He urged stronger political oversight to ensure that the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee are fully implemented.
Li also emphasized the need to foster a clean and healthy political environment and eliminate the conditions that allow corruption to emerge and persist.
He reiterated that misconduct and corruption occurring close to ordinary people must be firmly addressed so that the public can experience a stronger sense of benefit from development and effective governance.
