Woman Hospitalised After Self-Harm Attempt Near Boudha Gate

A woman was admitted to hospital in serious condition after a self-harm attempt near Boudha Gate in Kathmandu on Monday afternoon.

According to Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai of the Kathmandu District Police Range, the incident occurred at around 2:45 pm near Boudha Gate in Kathmandu Metropolitan City–6.

The 27-year-old woman, originally from Kavre and currently living in the Makalbari area of Gokarneshwar, was immediately taken by her family to Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital in Sankhu.

After receiving initial treatment there, she was transferred to a burn hospital in Kirtipur for further care. Police said her condition remained serious.

Preliminary information indicates that the woman and her husband jointly operated a snack shop.

Although reports suggest that the couple had an argument before the incident, police have not confirmed it as the definitive cause. Further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is under way.
