Russia’s Second Cassation Court of General Jurisdiction has upheld the four-and-a-half-year prison sentence imposed on blogger Elena Blinovskaya after she was convicted of tax evasion and money laundering.

According to TASS, the court rejected an appeal filed by Blinovskaya’s lawyers and left the earlier ruling unchanged.

Blinovskaya was accused of artificially dividing her business operations among several smaller entities to reduce tax liabilities and subsequently laundering the proceeds.

In March 2025, Moscow’s Savyolovsky District Court sentenced her to five years in prison. Investigators said she had evaded more than 900 million rubles in taxes through the business-splitting scheme between 2019 and 2021.

In October 2025, the Moscow City Court reduced her sentence by six months to four and a half years.

According to TASS, Blinovskaya is due to complete her prison term in April 2027.
