A group of Ukrainian soldiers attempting to move towards an area reportedly under Russian control in Ukraine’s Sumy Region was killed, according to a Russian security source.

The Russian news agency TASS reported that the Ukrainian troops had moved from a wooded area near the village of Sadky towards Mohrytsia.

According to the Russian source, the soldiers encountered Russian forces while attempting to reach positions previously held by Ukrainian units.

The source claimed that all members of the group were killed in the confrontation. The exact number of soldiers involved was not disclosed.

Russian security officials also claimed that intercepted radio communications indicated that the Ukrainian unit’s command did not have an accurate understanding of developments along that section of the front.

According to the source, Ukrainian commanders were allegedly relying on publicly available online information rather than direct reports from military units when issuing instructions.

The TASS report is based entirely on statements from Russian security officials. No response from the Ukrainian side or independent confirmation of the incident was available in the cited account.
