Xi Calls for High-Quality Modernisation of National Defence and Armed Forces

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has called for stronger political guidance and deeper innovation-driven development to advance the high-quality modernisation of national defence and the armed forces.

Xi said greater priority should be given to political leadership and technological innovation to promote the modernisation of China’s defence capabilities and armed forces more effectively.

He made the remarks while presiding over a group study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on Thursday.
