UK’s Latest Sanctions Reflect Continuation of Futile Anti-Russia Campaign: Russian Embassy

Dragon Media News Desk
The latest sanctions imposed by the United Kingdom against Russia demonstrate that a change in Britain’s political leadership has brought no alteration to London’s anti-Russian policy, the Russian Embassy in the UK has said.
Responding to the new restrictive measures, the Embassy stated that Britain has been waging a full-scale economic war against Russia since the beginning of the special military operation, repeatedly introducing additional sanctions in pursuit of what it described as an illusory objective.
According to the Embassy, more than 3,400 restrictive measures intended to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia have failed to deliver the desired result. It said each new round of sanctions merely provides further evidence of the futility of the campaign.
The Embassy also argued that the sanctions are accelerating the erosion of international trade, freedom of navigation and global financial stability.
It added that ordinary consumers, including British citizens, are ultimately bearing the economic consequences of the sanctions policy.
The Russian diplomatic mission said the lasting and just peace that London claims to support cannot be achieved by increasing military supplies to the Kiev authorities or by intensifying sanctions pressure against Russia.
According to the Embassy, achieving a sustainable settlement requires addressing the root causes of the crisis rather than pursuing further military escalation and economic restrictions.
