Ukraine Lacks Resources of Its Own to Continue Conflict: Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Galuzin

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has claimed that Ukraine has long lacked sufficient resources of its own to continue the conflict, linking the situation to recent high-level leadership changes in Kyiv.
In an interview with TASS, Galuzin commented on Ukraine’s internal political situation and recent management reshuffles, alleging that President Volodymyr Zelensky carried out the changes in an effort to retain power and maintain control over Western financial support.
Asked how the latest leadership changes, including the appointment of Mikhail Drapaty as the new Commander-in-Chief, could affect the course of the conflict, Galuzin argued that personnel changes would not alter the underlying situation.
He said Ukraine had for a long time depended heavily on external assistance for the financial and other resources needed to sustain the conflict.
Galuzin’s remarks represent the latest expression of Russia’s assessment of Ukraine’s military capacity, economic resources and dependence on Western support.
Ukraine and its Western partners, however, have described continued military, economic and political assistance as necessary to sustain Ukraine’s defence capabilities. Assessments by the two sides continue to differ sharply over Ukraine’s available resources and its longer-term military capacity.
