Forty-three civilians were killed and 376 others injured in Ukrainian attacks across various regions of Russia between August 3 and 9, according to Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Miroshnik said four children were among those killed, while 24 children were among the injured. A total of 419 civilians were affected during the seven-day period, according to the Russian account.
He further claimed that Ukrainian forces fired at least 7,061 munitions of various types at civilian targets on Russian territory during the week, averaging more than 1,000 munitions per day.
According to the Russian official, one of the most serious incidents was a drone strike on a crowded beach in Arkhipo-Osipovka in the Krasnodar Region, which resulted in civilian deaths and injuries.
The Moscow Region was also subjected to large-scale drone attacks, Miroshnik said. Strikes on residential areas and an industrial zone in the Chekhov Municipal District reportedly caused civilian casualties.
Russian authorities also said repeated attacks on key electrical substations caused rolling power outages in Crimea, a prolonged blackout in the Kherson Region and disruptions to water supplies in the Zaporozhye Region, where a technological emergency regime was introduced.
According to the Russian account, attacks on residential areas, industrial and logistics hubs, and infrastructure facilities were recorded in 16 regions, including areas located far from the main combat zone.
The highest numbers of civilian casualties were reported in the Belgorod Region, Krasnodar Region, Donetsk, Zaporozhye Region and Kherson Region.
Russia has characterized the incidents as attacks on civilian targets. The reported casualty figures, number of munitions and details concerning the targets remain based on Russian official statements and have not been independently verified.
