Rs 7.6 Million in Unexplained Cash Seized in Kuleshwor, One Arrested

Police have seized around Rs 7.6 million in cash of unexplained origin from Kuleshwor in Kathmandu Metropolitan City–14 and arrested one person in connection with the case.
The arrested individual has been identified as 33-year-old Jitendra Sah Turaha, a resident of Chhipaharmai Rural Municipality–1 in Parsa. He operates Aanchal Fruit Center in Kuleshwor.
A joint team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office and Kalimati Police Circle recovered the cash during the operation.
According to Kathmandu SSP Dilip Ghimire, police are still counting the seized money to determine the exact amount. “We are counting the cash and verifying the total,” he said.
Police recovered Rs 1.07 million from Aanchal Fruit Center, while the remaining amount was found at Turaha’s rented room.
Police sources said an additional Indian Rs 304,000 was also recovered from the room, where the money had allegedly been concealed.
Kalimati Police Circle is conducting further investigation into the source and intended use of the seized cash, as well as any other transactions linked to the case.
