Man Critically Injured in Stabbing During Attempted Home Invasion in Queensland

A 46-year-old man has been hospitalized with critical injuries after being stabbed during an attempted home invasion in the Australian state of Queensland.

According to Queensland Police, a group of armed people tried to enter a home on Albatross Street in Victoria Point, about 30 kilometers east of Brisbane, at around 1:30 am on Tuesday.

The resident confronted the group and was stabbed several times before the attackers fled the scene.

The injured man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Police said investigations are underway to determine whether the attack was targeted.

Authorities have appealed to anyone with information or video footage from the area to come forward and assist with the investigation.
